49ers vs. Chiefs pick
We’ve got a rematch of Super Bowl LIV tonight in Las Vegas when the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
San Francisco enters the game as a two-point favorite on Caesars Sportsbook. While the 49ers may have the better overall roster on paper, it’s hard to bet against the Chiefs with how they’ve played this postseason.
The Chiefs from the regular season have not shown up in the playoffs. The offensive errors have been eliminated, while their defense has balled out by allowing just 13.7 points per game in this playoff run. On the other side of the ball, Patrick Mahomes and the offense have played mistake-free football and Travis Kelce has stepped up with 191 yards and three touchdowns in his last two games.
San Francisco will be able to move the ball with its loaded offense, but Brock Purdy needs to play a clean game if it wants to knock off the defending champs. He threw one interception against the Lions in the NFC Championship Game and had two more dropped the week before against the Packers, and Kansas City’s defense will be ready.
Another thing to consider is how average the 49ers defense has looked this playoffs. The Lions and Packers seemed to move the ball pretty easily, and an offense coached by Andy Reid should be able to do the same.
