Local students in grades 7-12 and their families will have a chance to connect virtually with business and technology employers across the region at Henrico County Public Schools’ Life-Ready Expo: Business Management and Technology Jan. 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event is part of HCPS’ Life-Ready Expo series, designed to expose students to possible career paths. Students and their families can visit virtual “rooms” to talk with employers across the region representing a variety of career opportunities. They’ll be able to learn about the educational qualifications employers want, and what kind of compensation to expect.

Many of the careers that will be represented are suited to detail-oriented students who enjoy organizing, planning, multitasking, working with numbers, using people skills and designing and developing hardware, software and systems. Students will be able to meet employers from the following U.S. Department of Education career cluster areas:
• business management and administration;
• finance;
• information technology;
• marketing.
The virtual event will be conducted using Microsoft Teams. Attendees can take part using a browser without creating a Teams account.
Future HCPS Life-Ready Expos will include the following topics:

• Feb. 23: Industrial and Engineering Technology
