Addressing Challenges and Uncovering Opportunities for Not-for-Profit Providers
Not-for-profit providers face unique challenges as well as opportunities when it comes to strategic health care financial management.
This course will describe the critical operational and strategic challenges faced by not-for-profit organizations that provide health care services to the public, as either their central mission or an adjunct. We will address three core issues: (1) financial management through revenue cycle management (RCM); (2) coding and compliance; and (3) strategic imperatives.
Course Objective: To provide organizations with an understanding of financial management through revenue cycle management and coding and compliance.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to:
- Understand the imperative elements of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)—what it is, how it impacts Not-For-Profits (NFPs), and how to assess/remediate problems
- Understand key requirements of compliance coding and risk posed to an NFP by failing to be fully compliant
- Analyze the strategic challenges and opportunities to better understand/advise clients by considerations such as growth, marketing and new product
