Americans pay an average of $1,211 annually on their home insurance premium, with the medium home value coming in at $265,712.90, says a report from Insurify.
According to their data, Louisiana ($1,968 annually), Florida ($1,951 annually) and Texas ($1,893 annually) have the highest average premiums in the nation, likely do to their susceptibility to devastating, often expensive, natural disasters like hurricanes. Many homeowners in these states also have to purchase flood policies in addition to their homeowners coverage.
To the contrary, residents of the ten states featured in this slideshow enjoy the least expensive annual homeowners premiums in the nation.
