Small business owners, entrepreneurs, and marketing/advertising directors have the opportunity to receive a “marketing makeover” during RESET ‘22 in Fort Madison Friday, April 1 -Saturday, April 2. Those attending the networking and workshop event will learn best practices in creating a marketing plan, building a consistent brand, and establishing a successful media strategy that best fits their individual needs.
Guest speakers include Fort Madison native Nathan Todd and his wife, Brittany. The Todds will discuss social media planning, business photography, content creation, and planning for the future. The couple owns Sugar Bowl locations in Decorah and Fayette, Iowa. The Sugar Bowls feature rotating hard serve ice cream flavors, permanent options in pre-packed pint form, and specialty sandwiches. A professional photographer, Brittany has also expanded her entrepreneurship expertise to include speaking and influencer roles with @BrittanyToddOfficial: Keynote and Motivational Speaker.
“All small business owners and team members have been there at one time or another,” said Brittany Todd, RESET ’22 organizer. “They want to share who they are, what they do, and what they sell, but they’re at a loss for fresh ideas and can only stare at the computer screen. At RESET ’22, we’ll provide a crash course in business photography before diving into social media content, how to keep your brand consistent and up-to-date, while also remaining focused on your other business responsibilities.”

Mel Cervantes and TJ Widbin: Brand Consistency
Cervantes and Widbin will discuss learning how to build, maintain and promote a brand. The couple own Lost Bear Coffee in Fort Madison and West Burlington, and Good, a restaurant located in a nearly two century-old stone house along the Mississippi River in Burlington.
Teresa Hageman and Tony Phan: Modernize Your Digital Marketing
Tony and Teresa launched The Marketing Team (TMT) after RESET ‘21. Since then, they have created a complete web presence, booked clients, and started collaborations with several other businesses and organizations. Their presentation will include an overview of digital marketing tools and the use of data to help make smart business decisions for the future. The duo will also touch base on social media strategy and the importance of visual branding.
Following the workshops, Janine Clover, Iowa Small Business Development Center (SBDC) regional director, will be on hand to schedule one-on-one sessions with attendees to revise business plans, explore expansion ideas, and provide resources to take a business to the next level.
RESET ‘22 kicks off with a networking opportunity from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Swed & Co. Coffee in Fort Madison.
